About me!
My name is Caroline Ayres, and I live in Devon with my three wonderful kids , aged 14, 12 and 5. Then there is the menagerie! . There’s Archie, my slightly bonkers Sprollie, Zag the worlds laziest cat, Derek the (female!) rabbit
I’m a qualified and practising Speech and Language Therapist, working with adults, and it’s a job I love doing. How many people can say that? But…..I gradually came to realise that I’d missed my vocation slightly and should be working in the field where my true passion has always lain; animals. I undertook and passed with flying colours the Alpha course “Intermediate Think Dog”, which then gained me entry onto the COAPE “Advanced Diploma in Practical Aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training”. I am an affiliate member of COAPE http://www.coape.org and I write a pet column for a local magazine West of the Exe. www.westoftheexe.co.uk As I was doing this retraining I became totally convinced that a great number of the skills I have acquired as a Speech Therapist were completely transferable to pet behaviourism and so I em”bark”ed on this different career. I really enjoy the challenge of balancing my life-work commitments. Life is never dull certainly! Being a parent and very experienced pet-owner, a speech and language therapist and a pet behavioural therapist is great, and means I have lots of possible 'tools to select from my toolbag' when working with you.
